The Coronado Museum of History and Art is located inside the City of Coronado Visitors Center in the landmark Historical Association building. It offers visitors an interactive look at Coronado's colorful past, its long association with aviation and with the military, as well as changing exhibits.
Working with the Curatorial team ‘Think Jacobson & Roth’, we devised a series of custom-designed wood and glass wall-mounted display boxes above a series of wood and glass display cases to reinforce the exhibit narrative and provide a sense of depth to a collection consisting mostly of 2 dimensional art. Display units similar to the wall-mounted structures are positioned on metal poles for swiveling. Other built-in cabinetry recalls, in a modern idiom, old card catalogue cases in libraries. Enlarged graphics and photography enliven the display space while providing information.
